Spring PTA Display - time to get your smiles on!

Hey Cubbies, Our April Newsletter is HERE!!!

COMMUNITY CLOSET: 

Don't forget to be bringing gently used clothing items to donate. Drop them off at the Constitution Hallway by the cafeteria/art room.

Then be sure to visit the cafeteria on the 11th during Parent Teacher Conferences to see if there are any items that can benefit your family!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Hi Room Parents,

Teacher Appreciation Week is the last full week of April (22nd-26th). Here's what we're responsible for:

1. Door decorated on/by the Friday before (April 19th). You should have a volunteer on your sign-up sheet. If not, please call someone. Check with your teacher to see if they want a poster or butcher paper that completely covers their door. Also find out where they would like it put (front/back/side).  There is butcher paper in the hall, die-cuts in the Teacher Room so you shouldn't have to buy anything.

2. Assemble a "written gift" to give to the teacher on FRIDAY (April 26th). Most send it with their child to class. You should have a volunteer on your sign-up sheet. If not, please call someone. The person in charge should arrange a time with the teacher to be gone so they can spend 15 mins in the classroom to do this. Recruit some parents with the younger children to speed things up. Some suggestions are thank you cards or drawings of what they like best about their teacher, a fun memory from that year, etc.

Keep it simple!  

The amazing Stephanie Ellis is in charge of Teacher Appreciation this year. When I get the official schedule I will send it on to you. Teacher Appreciation is such a fun week for us to help the children give back to our teachers. Thanks for your help. Any questions just let me know. THANKS for supporting our teachers!

OES Room Parents

Thompson Orthodontics Pays for A's

We have several patients who are students at Orem Elementary and we  would love to donate to your school! We are starting a fun new program to reward our patients for getting good grades!  We call it “We Pay for A’s.” Our patients that attend Orem Elementary will bring in their report card to us at the end of each term.  For each “A” on the report card we will donate one dollar to OES. This is a fun incentive for our patients to get good grades and reward their school for their progress!

Here are the official rules of the program:

-This program applies to patients that are currently in active treatment with Thompson Orthodontics
-Patients have 1 month from the end of the term to send us their report card
-We will accept report cards from the 3rd and 4th term of  this school year only.  We will not donate for A’s earned in previous school terms.
-Rather than bringing in your report card, please email an original picture.  Your honesty is appreciated!

Once we have reviewed all of our participants report cards we will take a donation check to Mountain View and let them know that it is because of your awesome grades that we are donating!

If you are not a student at Mountain View and are interested in this program, talk to us about how to make it happen at your school!

CARNIVAL 2012

Thank you everyone who literally made our carnival the BEST ever! We brought in a record amount of $16000.00, $1200.00 more than last year.   AND everyone had a really good time to boot!!!

All the money goes to fund the great programs the PTA provides at OES like Red Ribbon Week, Walk to School Day, Moms and Muffins, Dads and Donuts, WatchD.O.G.S., Community Closet, Newsletter, Maturation, NOVA, 6th Grade Graduation, Family Pizza Movie Night, the school gift and so much more.

Thanks OES, I hope you don't get tired of hearing it, but OES IS THE BEST!!!!
