Our annual CARNIVAL will be held on Monday, September 21 from 4:30 to 7:30pm. Please mark your calendars now for an evening of food, games, and fun with your family. This is the only PTA sponsored fund raiser held during the year. It is very important in funding the great programs you love at OES like Home Reading, After School Programs, Crazy Cubs Reading Club, and many others.
You should have received our first carnival flyer by now on neon light green paper. On that flyer are classroom assignments related to basket auction themed donations and also the food assignment for that grade (bake sale, cake walk, etc.)
As always, this is a real community affair ---we will need LOTS of helpers. Each teacher has been assigned to be over finding volunteers for 1 game so if you can spare an hour or 2, please contact your child’s teacher so they can put you down. You may also contact any of the carnival chair’s.
Ticket Sales: Pre-sales will begin in front of the school before and after school on Wednesday, September 16 and continue each day through the morning of Monday, Sept. 21.
Silent Auction: We need baskets! If you have old baskets in your storage, please put them to good use and donate them to the carnival. Please also watch for the special triple point and double point due dates on basket auction item donations.
Business Sponsors: We’d like to encourage any parents who are business owners (or employees of a business) to consider supporting Orem Elementary. You can do this by:
1. donating an item from your inventory that might be used in the silent auction;
2. donating credit, coupons, or a special discount from your place of business, also to be used in the silent auction baskets;
To become a partnering business you may either write a note and return it through your student as your family’s silent auction contribution OR call Ada Wilson at 801-224-1521. Please include the name of the business and a phone number contact in any message.
Every business that helps us out in even the smallest way will be listed on our big “Business Partners” poster with major donors ($100 or more) being listed first. Being a contributor to the community is good business!

If you are willing to volunteer for an hour at the school carnival, please sign up on one of the sheets in the office or contact a member of the carnival committee. We need help serving food, at the bake sale, selling tickets before and after school as well as during the carnival.
Also, check with your child’s teacher. Each teacher needs volunteers to man their game stations.
Your child’s class will receive carnival points for your donated time.
